Shelter Dog Clings to Kennel Bars With Love, Hoping Someone Gives Her a Chance

For many shelter dogs, life behind kennel bars can be overwhelming. The constant noise and unfamiliar surroundings can make an already stressful environment even harder to navigate, especially for dogs who have experienced trauma in the past. Yet, despite everything they have endured, these animals are simply waiting for the same thing: a loving home where they can feel safe, wanted, and cherished forever.

A Terrier mix named Belle is no different. She has spent an astonishing 709 days waiting at a shelter on Long Island, an incredibly long time for any dog. Through all those months, Belle has continued to wait for someone to notice her, give her a chance, and finally take her home for good.

This shelter dog keeps waiting behind kennel bars for someone to give her the love she longs for. The clip was shared by @adoptableswaitingatshelter on Instagram, a shelter home on Long Island. The caregiver shared that she has been at the shelter for 709 days and is feeling hopeless.

Bella is a 4½-year-old Terrier mix, and just like many other dogs, she is full of love and life. The furry baby has an energetic and playful personality. While she takes her time to open up to others, when met with patience, she has plenty of affection to give. Once a rapport has been built, Bella doesn’t stop gazing softly at the human she loves.

She is incredibly sweet and affectionate, making her a wonderful companion for the right family. In the video, she gently boops her nose against the kennel bars, almost as though she is asking someone to notice her, say hello, and give her the chance to finally go home.

Her caregiver also shared that Bella would do best in a home without other dogs. After waiting so long for someone to give her a chance, she deserves a family where she can play, share her affection, enjoy peaceful naps, and simply be the loving dog she has always wanted to be.

The video has already amassed more than 12.2K likes and over 1,300 comments, with viewers quickly rallying around Bella. Many showered the sweet pup with affection, calling her a “gorgeous girl,” while others urged someone to give her the loving home she deserves.
