According to the post, she was returned shortly after being adopted because her transition into a new home moved too quickly. The footage shows a wonderfully joyful scene inside the Miami facility. Sophie smothers a volunteer named Diandra with endless sloppy kisses and happy sniffs. Her tail wags at lightning speed while Diandra gives her some much-deserved neck scritches. Typical of a resilient rescue pup, Sophie seems to have already bounced back from the disappointment of being returned to the shelter.
The dog shows no visible signs of distress about being back in the kennels. Text shown in the video notes that dogs need time to adjust to new environments. According to the post, Sophie’s return stemmed from difficulties during her transition period. The post further states that a quick scuffle with a neighbor’s pet occurred before she had fully settled into her new surroundings.
However, the caption notes that Sophie performs well in shelter playgroups when given space. The volunteer writes: “Everyone wants the perfect dog… But shelter dogs aren’t given the luxury of time. Sofie is still decompressing, still learning, still figuring out who she can trust.”
