A sweet senior Beagle named Juniper Penelope recently decided that her owner’s yard work was officially canceled. Her mom was outside building a planter when this affectionate rescue dog climbed right up to demand immediate cuddles. This behavior is a huge milestone because Junie spent seven long years in a testing facility without ever experiencing love. She is adjusting beautifully but still faces unique challenges from her past life. For instance, she doesn’t understand standard water bowls yet because she used a dripper-type thing for years.
Her owner carefully mixes water into her soft food inside a plastic container to help her stay hydrated. Despite her fears, her sweet side really comes out when she whiffs the smell of boiled chicken and rice in the kitchen. She even put her paws up on the counter to investigate the wonderful scent.
