Every goofy move counts for this rescue dog finding his true self with the help of his foster mom. He spent years in a testing laboratory, and Emilie Rackovan is currently helping this sweet boy navigate his new life in Milwaukee. According to her bio, she is just a girl trying to save animals, and she is certainly making a difference for this pup.
In this video, the dog is one of the many Ridglan Farm Beagles who finally found freedom after being used for research. Seeing him realize that life is actually quite fun is the ultimate reward for a volunteer.
Dog rescued from lab can’t stop being himself with foster mom as he’s finally safe
The video opens with a hilarious shot of him peeking through a small gap in a door. His nose and tiny teeth are visible as he playfully spies on his human. The in-video text reads, “watch my foster dog rescued from a lab finally start to show his personality,” and the whole video is proof.
Next, he decides to tackle a pile of laundry. Watching him roll around in pants and shirts shows how comfortable he feels in his new home. There is no doubt that he finally feels safe enough to be himself here. One viewer summed it up best: “That’s not a dog. That’s a certified silly goose.”
Later on, he encounters a resident cat sitting behind a puppy gate. Instead of being scared, he starts doing play bows and hopping around with excitement. He is clearly curious about his feline roommate and tries to start a game. His foster mom captures him running away playfully as the cat looks on. He is essentially learning how to be a real pet for the first time.
The car clips might be the funniest part, though. He digs enthusiastically into the seat, flips himself around, rolls onto his back, and wiggles like he physically cannot contain how good life suddenly feels. And viewers noticed that too. “Omg he’s beagling,” one person joked.
This rescue dog has come such a long way from the lab environment of Ridglan Farm Beagles. The video has already gone viral with over 86.1k likes from supportive fans. One viewer mentioned that seeing him finally be his “doggie self” is truly beautiful.
According to Emilie, these dogs were among the Beagles rescued from Ridglan Farms after activists helped bring attention to the facility, and rescues stepped in to help save 1,500 dogs. More details about the rescue effort can be found through Big Dog Ranch Rescue.
