Senior shelter dog Grandma Lola was running out of time when a foster offer changed what her next few days would look like. In the video shared by @ak.fosters, she is still behind the kennel bars at first, where she accepts gentle pets through the bars before heading outside. She looks thin and a little unsure about everything happening around her.
Then she spots the woman waiting for her, and something in her expression seems to soften. After coming so close to spending her final days at the shelter, this rescue dog is finally on her way somewhere safe.

Lola starts the video behind the bars of her kennel, with text explaining that she was facing a euthanasia date at a busy shelter. When a volunteer reaches through to pet her face, Lola stays close and accepts the affectionate touch.
The video then cuts to show a volunteer leading Lola outside. It’s here that Ashton, her foster mom, is waiting. The text says, “She came out like she was waiting for me her whole life,” and Lola’s expression certainly makes the meeting feel important. She looks toward Ashton as she approaches, still nervous but willing to keep going.
Lola then walks to the car, with another message from her foster mom promising, “You will never be here again.” She climbs into the back seat and settles in for the ride to her temporary home. The senior pup still looks frightened and underweight, but that is where this part of her story ends. Her foster family is ready to help her recover and figure out what comes next.
Hundreds of people have reacted to the video, with viewers already looking forward to seeing Lola’s progress. One person called her a “sweet girl” and said they could not wait for her transformation.
