Dory, a rescued tripod Beagle, appears to have found the perfect way to make sure her family does not accidentally leave her behind when they pack for a trip. As her owners prepare their luggage, Dory climbs straight into an open suitcase and settles inside, making it clear that she plans to be part of the journey.
Tripod rescue dog has sweetest way of making sure owners remember about her while packing for trip
The adorable video shows Dory exploring an open blue suitcase sitting on the floor of her home. Rather than simply watching her family pack, the small dog climbs inside and curls herself up among the space. A text overlay on the video reads, “Just making sure we don’t forget her…” before another message calls her “the perfect carry-on size.”
Dory looks completely comfortable in her unusual travel spot. In one clip, she sits inside the suitcase with her tongue sticking out. In another, she rests her front paw on the edge and looks at the camera. Dory’s Instagram account, @couch_pawtatoes, describes her as a fearful tripod rescue who is slowly learning that people and the world around her can be safe. The account’s bio invites followers to “follow Dory’s journey” as she experiences small moments of bravery and builds confidence one step at a time. It also identifies her as a Jax ACPS alum, referring to Jacksonville Animal Care and Protective Services.
The video’s caption perfectly shows how determined Dory is: “Dory’s not going to be left behind this time! She’ll make sure of it!” Her suitcase plan seems to be working. No one even needs to ask if she wants to come along — Dory has already packed herself. Viewers couldn’t get enough of the resourceful rescue dog. One commenter wrote, “Aww. Absolutely going on a trip.” Another user commented, “That’s my kind of baggage!” One viewer added, “Omgggg she is so smart!!!”
