Some dogs rescued from a shelter or a confined living situation are so excited to be outside they can't get down to the business of elimination. If you find yourself taking endless walks with no results, snap on your dog's leash and just stand still. Eventually he'll take the time to go to the bathroom. Then reward him by letting him get back to his exploring.

“I just adopted a rescued dog and have the same problem with eating. Did you
try wet food?
Good luck!”
“we have a 2 yr old silky terrier that we rescied no info from the people who owned her before. she wont eat any dog food - tryed tons - we seem to think that she was feed food from the table. also doesn't like treats. told that she was trained but still is peeing and pooping inside . tho we take her out all the time . Is she to old for crate training ? what should we do for food/treats for her to eat ?”
