June seems convinced there’s a secret trick that unlocks dinner. She just hasn’t figured out which one it is yet. So, in the video shared by @thecaldwelldogs, the sweet Doberman starts trying all of them, one after another, while Mum watches the whole thing unfold. Sit? Check. Flop over? Done. Belly on full display? Why not. Every few seconds, the hungry dog switches tactics with complete confidence, as though the next move is definitely going to be the one that gets her dinner served.
A clever dog performs a string of random tricks every time she gets hungry
The video opens with June rushing straight over to Mum before planting herself neatly at her feet like the perfect student. That lasts all of two seconds. The on-screen text reads, “POV: your dog is hungry and starts doing random tricks to get you to feed her,” and June immediately gets to work. First comes the polite sit. Then she flops dramatically onto her back, exposing her belly as if she’s ticking off another item on a mental checklist.
Mum can’t help laughing. “What are you doing?” she asks, but June doesn’t seem interested in explaining herself. She gives a little wiggle, stretches out a paw, rolls onto her side, then pops back up and sits again, waiting to see if this attempt finally does the trick.
When that doesn’t earn dinner either, she adds even more to the routine. A play bow. Another dramatic flop that looks suspiciously like her “bang” trick, only nobody asked for it this time. She even curls her front paws over her face before freezing completely.
Just when it seems the show might be over, June races back for an encore. She attempts what looks like a graceful little pirouette, loses her balance halfway through, and tumbles out of it instead. Mum gasps, laughs, and tells her she’s a good girl as June politely offers both paws.
Finally, Mum asks the question June has clearly been waiting for all along: “You want me to get your food?” One quick lip smack says everything. She still sits pretty on cue and happily performs an actual “bang” when asked, but the second she’s finished, she’s already crouched and ready to sprint toward her bowl. The hilarious clip has picked up more than 9,200 likes, with viewers loving every second of June’s performance.
