Shelter Dog Thought He Was Going on a Vacation, Only for Him To End up in a Concrete Kennel

That is what happened to Tsuki, a shelter dog whose recent story has touched viewers after a video showed just how quickly his circumstances changed.

A video shared by @rescuetails_withluna captures the heartbreaking change in Tsuki the shelter dog’s circumstances. The two-year-old pup appears in the clip dressed for what looks like a vacation, complete with a hat.

But the cheerful setup quickly takes a different turn when viewers learn that Tsuki was not going away with his family. Instead, he ended up at a shelter, where he now spends his days inside a concrete kennel.

The video later shows a volunteer interacting with Tsuki and giving him some much-needed attention. As they play together, text on the footage describes him as a happy, loving boy who deserves more. The post goes on to explain how the dog went from having a family to once again being abandoned.

Tsuki’s story began in a Walmart parking lot, where he was found as a puppy. Fortunately, he was eventually taken in by a family and spent the following two years living with them. According to information provided by his previous owners, Tsuki was well cared for and is described as active, playful, and affectionate.

That changed when the family moved and surrendered him to the shelter instead of taking him along. After two years with the same people, Tsuki was suddenly separated from the home he had grown familiar with.

The rescue says Tsuki is the type of dog who is always excited to see people. He is “friendly, affectionate, and sweet,” and his energetic personality could make him a good match for an active family.

Now at East Valley Animal Shelter in California, Tsuki waits each day for someone to give him a permanent home. After being found alone as a puppy and later losing the family that cared for him, the rescue hopes his next home will truly be forever.
