A dog named Leia has sadly never had anyone meet her since she arrived at the shelter. However, she still has not lost hope and patiently waits for someone to see her and finally give her a chance at a happy life with a loving family. On July 5, @rescueme_atl took to Instagram to share her heartwarming story through a video. The clip has received a lot of attention since then, garnering more than 23K likes on Instagram.
Shelter dog has had no one meet her since she was brought there
A heart-melting video on Instagram showcased a shelter dog named Leia, who never got the chance to be seen. The fur baby has been waiting for someone to provide her with a forever home. The video has captured the hearts of many online. The caption of the post read, “When I finally noticed she was there at the end of the day, my stomach sank because I flashed back to the entire day that I spent walking dogs.” It continued, “Talking to them in my highest pitched voice. Calling them the best girl or boy. Handing out treats and toys.”
The caption further read, “And this whole time she was at the very end. Waiting quietly on the other side of the door. Wanting to cry and bark like the rest of them.” It continued, “But she sat patiently and waited for the ‘good girl’, the squeaky toy that almost never came.”
Per the caption, “No one has ever asked to meet Leia since she’s been here.” It also revealed that “She is now urgent.”
In the meantime, the Instagram video began by showing the shelter dog, Leia, standing quietly behind the kennel door. The text written over her clip read, “POV: visiting the quiet dog in the corner that no one has ever asked to meet for the first and last time.” As the video went on, viewers saw the fur baby wag her tail when she saw the volunteer approaching to greet her. She has so much life in her eyes. The shelter dog truly deserves a loving family.
