This is perhaps what is making Jazzy do what she is doing in this clip by @thedogsneedourhelp. The video shows this beautiful stray dog attempting to escape her shelter kennel by breaking the lock. This one-year-old girl recently lost her home because she simply could not resist chasing chickens. So, now she spends her days pacing her small enclosure and begging for a second chance to thrive.

The Instagram reel shows Jazzy standing directly in front of the metal gate. She stretches her nose up to reach the heavy latch mechanism. When she realises she can’t get to it, she turns around, does a turn about her kennel, and comes right back up. The dog then presses her snout through the bars and lets out a whimper. All this is just because she wants freedom.
The shelter guesses that she is a Black Mouth Cur mix, and hence, this persistent behavior makes complete sense for her. These herding types are naturally intelligent, energetic, and highly capable of manipulating objects with their paws. Jazzy looks right at the camera and begs for someone to open the door.
The poor pup arrived at the Greenville facility after a brief stint with her rescuers failed. After finding her as a stray, the family really wanted to keep her, but her natural hunting drive around farm birds created a big problem. Jazzy is friendly with people, cats, and other dogs, but she currently needs to gain some weight. She is spending her time without any toys or exercise.
