Big Shelter Pup Struggles in a Small Kennel, but Still Finds Comfort in Tiny Laps

Imagine keeping a big amount of puppy energy contained in a tiny space. It is surely a recipe for pure chaos. That is exactly what one enthusiastic canine is dealing with while he waits for an adopter.

A clip posted by @humanebroward in Florida highlights a gorgeous big shelter pup trying his best to cope with life inside a tight kennel. Mack is only a year and a half old, loves people, and despite his size, he genuinely believes he is a lap dog.

Big shelter pup’s mood completely changes when he leaves his tiny kennel

The video starts with a camera hovering right outside Mack’s enclosure. He is busy wrestling with a blanket that he dragged entirely off his elevated bed. The text on the screen notes how tough it is to be a large canine in such a confined area.

But then he notices a friendly face and his expression changes. This goofy big shelter pup immediately leaves the back of his kennel and bounds right toward the glass door because he is so excited to see a human.

He stands there wagging his tail. Then he starts smacking his lips before sitting down nicely to show off his very best behavior. He even throws in a little tippy-tap to prove he is trying to be a good boy.

According to the shelter’s description, he is just bursting with pure, happy energy. He adores people. But because he is so strong and enthusiastic, he would probably do best in a home with older kids.

His absolute favorite place to be is parked right on top of a human’s lap. He completely soaks up affection, and he is incredibly food-motivated too. He already knows how to sit and shake paws as well.

However, he is absolutely ready to learn more commands if someone brings the right snacks along. The video shows how hard it can be for a big shelter pup to pass the time inside a tiny kennel environment without getting bored. He just needs a consistent routine and some basic leash training to help him focus all that excitement on walks.

The online community is completely rallying behind him. The footage scored over 5.9K likes from fans who want to see him adopted. Mack is currently waiting for visitors at the facility in Fort Lauderdale.
