Dog Gets To Run in Entrancing Snow as Perk of Living in Alaska

Walking a dog is usually simple, unless you are in Alaska. An Instagram video from @mochidointhings shows a dog named Mochi racing against snowmobiles across the frozen snow of Alaska — and safe to say, she would have easily won. The Samoyed runs with huge snowy mountains in the background, and there, sprinting at full speed across the snowy path, is a massive dog making the entire video feel like a nature documentary full of pure joy.

Owner shows what taking dog on a walk in snow-covered Alaska looks like

As the dog runs across the snow, the on-screen caption says, “POV YOU NEED TO WALK YOUR DOG BUT YOU LIVE IN ALASKA.” And it may sound hilarious, but it is fascinating to see Mochi’s paws barely seeming to touch the snow as she flies alongside the snowmobile, racing while holding her tail remarkably steady.

Watching Mochi move, it is impossible not to be in awe. The caption from her owner reads, “miss you so much @soledad.de.las.nieves! come back soon so I can race you again!” — a reference to the rider on the snowmobile, who hopped into the comments herself, writing, “Still snowing!! miss you mochi!! I had a blast hanging out with you!!” And if this is not a sweet sign of their friendship, what is?

Viewers felt the magic instantly, with one commenting, “Sammy smiles while on the snow are the best!” and another noted, “I like how stabilised the tail is.” Meanwhile, a third viewer quipped, “He’s really fast for a bear made of mochi.”

One even saw a whole life goal in that video, asking, “how does one go about acquiring the bear dog snow mobile lifestyle,” and another said, “Mochi is the luckiest dog in the world,” which felt about right.

Well, not every dog gets a snowmobile and a backyard filled with snow and huge mountains, but for a Samoyed named after a soft rice cake, Alaska is exactly where she belongs.
