Opie, the beloved “potato” and self-proclaimed Director of Mayhem over at @justopiethings, recently underwent a prehistoric transformation that has the internet cracking up.
His humans decided to strap a dinosaur mask onto his blocky Pit Bull head while he was lounging on the couch. The resulting video is absolute comedy gold. He sits there, giving major side-eye through the mask openings, looking equal parts ridiculous and resigned to his fate.

As the video starts, we see the Pit Bull sitting with a dinosaur mask on his face. The real comedy comes from how the jaw on this thing actually works. The mask is clipped snugly behind his ears so that whenever Opie moves his own jaw — maybe to sigh in frustration or just readjust — the dinosaur mouth opens and closes right along with him.
It straight-up looks like “Opisorus Rex” is trying to say something… or maybe just laughing at how ridiculous this whole situation has become. The hilarious audio overlay of various “rawr” noises just makes the whole thing ten times funnier. That’s because Opie’s actual physical expression remains deadpan serious the entire time. Whatever little we can see of it, that is.
Despite the Jurassic getup, Opie’s classic Pit Bull energy is till very much there. He has that sturdy, cuddly build perfect for the couch, and that incredibly expressive face that clearly communicates his skepticism. He’s known for repping bully breeds in the best way, and honestly, sitting through this whole costume bit just adds to that résumé. His patience is legendary.
The clip has already racked up over 18,300 likes, with commenters losing it over his “laugh.” Others are desperately asking where to buy one for their own dogs immediately. It’s guaranteed to make you smile, even if Opie himself seems a little unsure about his new prehistoric persona.
