Human Tells Big Dog Not To Wake the Sleeping Baby, but He Throws a Tantrum & Does It Anyway

The nursery is quiet, the baby is fast asleep, and Simon has decided this is an excellent time to make some noise. The Mastiff stands beside the crib while his mom films and firmly tells him not to wake her.

Simon looks straight at her, turns back toward the crib, and starts barking anyway. In the video shared by @simonstales, the big dog paws at the bars, gives the baby’s crib a push, and even paws at the floor when none of it works. Thankfully, the baby sleeps through the whole performance.

When the video starts, Simon is standing beside the crib, pawing at the wooden bars. He simply wants his baby sister to wake up so that he can play with her. But that’s when Mom gives him the warning. He looks back at her for a moment, almost checking that he heard correctly. Then he goes right back to the baby. A bark comes first. The baby stays asleep. Simon tries again, and yet the baby continues sleeping.

At that point, he starts pawing at the crib and gives it a little shake. The baby does not seem bothered, so Simon drops his paw to the floor and looks like he is running out of ideas. The song playing over the clip adds another layer of comedy, especially with the line about doing it anyway.

Simon really does seem committed to getting a reaction. Mom continues filming as he keeps trying, but the baby never wakes up. That may be the only reason the whole thing stays funny. A startled infant would have changed the mood pretty quickly.

Hundreds of people have liked the video of the big dog and the baby. One viewer warned Simon that he might not enjoy the crying once the baby is old enough to react. Another joked, “You wait until she’s walking.” For now, this big dog has to settle for barking at a sleeping baby who appears completely undisturbed.
