Scaling a logistical mountain isn’t usually part of the holiday itinerary, but for Chas from @dear.fig, her time spent overseas was consumed by a hectic rescue mission. A couple of months ago, she came upon a Petfinder listing for a sweet soul that she just couldn’t ignore. Despite the nightmare of being out of the country, she was determined to make this adoption happen. In a heartwarming video, Chas shares the moment she finally met her new dog, a unique mix that looks like a fluffy cloud come to life. It’s a beautiful look at how one “slightly unhinged human” went to the ends of the earth to bring a pet home.

When the video begins, Chas and her partner are already en route to the facility. The pure joy of pickup day was evident on their faces. When they finally meet, the connection is instant; the pup immediately jumps up for hugs, sensing she’s finally safe. This seven-month-old sweetheart is a rare Dalmatian and English Sheepdog mix, sporting one striking blue eye that makes her look like a literal work of art.

Chas mentions in the video that while the breed mix was a surprise, her gentle nature, especially with the resident cats, was precisely what their multi-pet household needed. The transition wasn’t without its hurdles, though. Between emergency vet visits and a cross-country coordination involving a rescue based in Las Vegas, it took a village to keep her out of the shelter system.

Once they finally got her to Florida, the first stop was a celebratory trip to PetSmart. The pup got to browse the aisles herself, sniffing out new toys and picking out a leash and collar that perfectly matched her unique eye color. Interestingly, she didn’t even have a name when the first clip went viral with over 24,000 likes. While viewers suggested names like Lumi or Yuki, a follow-up post showed her choosing her own destiny. By chasing a specific ball in the yard, she officially became Naga.

The final shot of the newly christened Naga meeting her brother, Zuko, is the sweetest. Adoption stories are always special, but the lengths Chas went to for this girl prove that when you know, you just know.
