Drone Found Blind Dog Missing for 3 Days

A senior Labrador Retriever who disappeared for three days is finally at home with her family. A drone was ultimately what found and brought the missing blind dog back.

According to FOX News, an 11-year-old Lab named Molly went missing from her home in the UK. The dog’s family called a search and rescue team to help find the pup. Drone to Home, a UK charity founded in 2019, offered assistance. The organization specializes in reuniting missing pets with their families. It only took them two hours to locate Molly.

“Within just two hours of the call, the team were able to locate Molly in Tissington, Derbyshire,” British news service SWNS said.

Then, the search and rescue team facilitated a reunion for Molly and her parent.

“I don’t get emotional very often but the Lab did bring a tear to my eye, I must admit. I’m so happy for the owners to see them overjoyed,” Drone to Home CEO Phil James said.

According to James, Drone to Home started as a one-man operation that James funded. He officially registered it as a charity on April 29, 2022. Since that time, the organization has brought 2,487 dogs, nine cows, three ponies, an emu, and a skunk back to their parents.

Hundreds of volunteers help make those reunions happens, either through ground searches or with drones.

“We all love what we do and have the best job in the world,” James said.

Drones are playing a vital role in reuniting missing dogs with their pet parents. These unmanned aerial vehicles are equipped with high-resolution cameras and thermal imaging technology.
