After surviving the streets of Korea, Toast clearly thought he was done with hardships until he realized living at home meant frequent baths. This little Golden Retriever mix found his way to Malia at @toastthegoldenpup after a very rough start on Jeju Island. He is a tiny guy who is still learning to trust his new world.
While he loves snuggling and soaking up every ounce of affection, he is definitely not a fan of grooming. This video captures the puppy’s hilarious reaction to the dreaded bath time.
Video shows that rescue puppy might not be too happy about bath time
The clip begins in the bedroom, with mom filming from her bed while dad stands in the doorway, holding the rescue puppy. He even has a towel ready to go over his arm. Toast seems to be resigned to the bath, but even then, he just stares at the camera with the most judgmental look imaginable.
Mom asks, off video, if the puppy is ready for his bath, and he responds by narrowing his eyes and looking totally betrayed. You cannot mistake that look for anything other than utter disgust at the entire operation. One viewer joked that he would definitely give his parents a bad review on Yelp.
This grumpy expression is actually what drew his mom to him in the first place. Malia had recently lost her soul dog Brady when she saw Toast on a rescue page. She was taken aback by how much he reminded her of Brady’s sassy eyes. That’s when she and her partner decided to give Toast a second home. He has been through so much already, so a little water should be easy. But he is clearly not convinced by the logic.
“The angry eyebrows rly come out there,” his mom shared in the caption. He looks personally offended by the high standards in his new home. People in the comments are losing it over his “furious” face. Over 5,000 people liked the clip in just a few hours. He might have been a stray in the past, but now he is a pampered prince who just wants to skip the soap.
