The first thing little Lollipop does when she comes home for the first time is walk right over to Cupcake. Cupcake, for her part, looks down and breaks into the softest smile. There’s even a slow-motion replay of that smile. The video shared by @bundleofbullies captures that first meeting, but it only takes a few more clips to see how precious their relationship is.
Before long, the little puppy is curled up against her, handing out kisses and following her everywhere. Knowing this mama rescue dog never got the chance to raise her own babies makes every cuddle that much more special.
Rescue dog finally gets to be a mama to adopted puppy after losing her own babies
That first meeting turns into something much bigger right before our eyes. We see Lollipop decide the safest place in the house is wherever Cupcake happens to be. On the couch, she stretches herself along Cupcake’s back as though she’s always belonged there. Her little tail never stops wagging, and every few seconds she leans over to plant another kiss on Cupcake’s face. Cupcake simply shifts onto her side to make a little more room.
The affection never seems one-sided between these Bully breed dogs. In another clip, Cupcake is fast asleep on the sofa when Lollipop wanders over and starts covering those droopy jowls with tiny kisses. Cupcake barely opens an eye. She just lets the pup love her, looking completely at ease.
As the clip continues, Lollipop grows a little bigger, but one thing doesn’t change. The two are almost always touching. Sometimes they’re curled up together on a dog bed. Other times Cupcake rests her head across Lollipop’s back. One especially sweet moment shows the younger dog sitting comfortably between Cupcake’s front legs, tucked into the safest seat in the house.
For a rescue mama dog, who once lost all her babies, this new puppy truly seems to be healing her. More than 36,000 people have already loved their relationship unfold. One viewer wrote, “Cupcake says this is my baby,” while another simply celebrated, “Cupcake gets to be a Momma!!”
