In a touching dog video on Instagram, a Golden Retriever puppy receives love at the shelter after being abandoned. Through on-screen text, a volunteer explains the content. It reads, “You’re volunteering at an animal shelter and get to help comfort the newly surrendered puppy.” Meanwhile, the clip shows a five-month-old pup, Waffles, appearing confused and nervous.
Despite the nervousness, Waffles welcomes all the love the volunteer showers on him. He quietly lets the shelter staff bathe him and doesn’t mind when the uploader spends time with him at his kennel. “And I sat with him for a bit to try to make him feel more comfortable,” the woman mentions.
She stays with him as Waffles trembles with other dogs barking at their respective kennels. Slowly, he dozes off, and the volunteer bids him farewell. Furthermore, the caption reads, “Waffles is sooo precious, and goes to show every type of dog can end up in the shelter. He already has an adoption hold too!”
Viewers lauded the uploader for accompanying Waffles during his first day at the shelter. Moreover, the Instagram post has garnered over 326K likes as of this writing.
