Video: Dog Ruins His Attempt to Hide Under Blanket by Doing This

Sometimes your body just decides to tell the truth even when you are trying your hardest to be a secret. And that is the struggle captured in this video. Adeline usually spends her time making art at @adelinam0ca, but right now her main job is hiding her dog Alfie in her room. Her mom is not a fan of him being upstairs. So Adeline taught him to stay perfectly still under a blanket. It seems to be working. The bed is messy, but other than that, nothing is out of place, or is it?

Dog starts to wag his tail the moment he gets caught in hilarious video

The video starts with Adeline filming as her mom walks into the bedroom. Mom looks around. Not impressed. “What’s with all this crap?” she asks while staring at the unmade bed. The camera pans slightly toward the blankets. There’s a lump there. Could be pillows. Could be something else.

The on-screen text gives the backstory: “My mom doesn’t like the dog upstairs so I taught him to stay still.” Mom looks at the bed again. Then calls out, “Alfie.” Adeline answers quickly, trying to keep the story straight. “He’s not there.” The video cuts between the bed and her mom. The lump doesn’t move. Actually, a decent hide attempt.

Mom tries again. “Come on, let’s go downstairs.” Still no movement from the blanket. Adeline doubles down. “No, he’s not there. There’s no one there.” But Mom walks closer. Points directly at the lump. “Bullshit. That’s his nose. That’s the puppy’s nose.” Sure enough, there’s a tiny point under the blanket where Alfie’s nose is pressing through. Mom even reaches over and lightly boops the spot. And that’s the moment everything falls apart.

Because the second the laughing starts, Alfie’s tail begins wagging under the covers. You can see the blanket shaking. The dog completely gives up the hide without even trying to stop it. One comment nailed it: “The nose boops activates the tail.” Another wrote, “The tail always gives them away.” And Alfie clearly agrees.
