Neighbor’s Dog Never Feels Alone While His Parents Work Because His Second Family Is Next Door

For Drake, his owners leaving for work does not necessarily mean spending the morning alone. The Labrador mix has another family just a few steps away, and he apparently makes a point of visiting them whenever he gets the chance. A recent video shows his excitement as he greets the toddler next door and settles into what seems to be his favorite spot in their home.

Neighbor’s dog visits the kids and his dog friends next door whenever his owners leave for work

Drake, who appears to be a black Labrador Retriever mix, has apparently made visiting his neighbors part of his morning routine. A video shared by @ivyonnacorinne shows the dog arriving at the family’s door. Text on the screen reads, “POV: your neighbor’s dog starts every morning by checking in with your family.”

The clip shows just how familiar the pup is with the household. When the toddler opens the door, Drake immediately begins wagging his tail excitedly. He seems thrilled to see his little friend and his canine companions, and wastes no time heading inside.

Soon after, he walks straight toward the couch and settles down comfortably. His behavior makes it look as though he knows the house well and has no doubts about where he belongs. The family also appears accustomed to his visits, with the toddler happily letting him in.

The video is part of a series of posts that show Drake visiting the family on a regular basis. Whenever his own owners head out for work, he apparently knows that he has another place nearby where he can spend time with people and dogs he already knows. His visits give him the chance to socialize instead of simply staying by himself while his parents are away.

One commenter pointed out that Drake going “straight to the couch” was clear “best friend behaviour,” while another joked that the arrangement looked like “definitely a joint custody” situation. Someone who owns a Labrador offered a humorous explanation for his visit, suggesting that the pup was probably “waiting for second breakfast.”

Others simply admired his friendly nature. One viewer called Drake “a certified good boy,” with many of his actions in the clip certainly supporting that assessment.
