Pit Bull Won’t Leave Baby Alone & Even Matches His Nap Schedule to His

When a baby and a family dog grow close, it can be difficult to find one without the other nearby. That seems to be the case for one Pit Bull, who apparently keeps track of everything his baby sibling is doing. A video shared by @katietumbach shows the dog napping beside the little one, while the owner explains that he is there for just about every “cough, cry, and scream.”

Pit Bull stays constantly by baby’s side and can always be found napping beside her

A video shared on Instagram shows just how closely one Pit Bull follows the baby in his family. In the clip, the dog is seen lying beside the sleeping infant, seemingly perfectly happy to spend nap time right next to his little companion.

Text on the video reads, “If my baby is napping best believe my pitbull is right there with him.” The message captures a routine that the owner says has become familiar in their home. Whenever the baby settles down for a nap, the Pittie apparently follows suit, finding a spot beside him and settling in for some rest of his own.

But according to the owner, the dog’s attention to the baby is not limited to nap time. The caption reads, “Any cough, scream or cry, our boy is there.” Whether the baby is playing or simply settling down to sleep, the Pit Bull wants to be nearby and involved.

The video resonated with viewers who recognized the behavior from their own dogs. One commenter called the relationship “the sweetest kind of love,” saying the pup is “always right there watching over his little best friend.”

Another praised Pit Bulls as “great loving dogs.” Meanwhile, someone else brought up the breed’s association with the term “nanny dogs.” They said, “There’s a reason why they refer to pit bulls as ‘nanny dogs.’”

Another viewer shared a personal experience involving their own dog and daughter. “My pup was always near my daughter,” they wrote, adding that dogs can take their “self imposed position of care taker very seriously.”
