Senior Shelter Dog With Special Needs Gets a Well-Deserved Breather

The best part of Ada’s day begins with someone walking into the shelter and asking a simple question: “Can we meet her?” Shared by @aguyandagoldenn, this sweet video follows the eight-and-a-half-year-old shelter dog as she trades her noisy kennel for a few quiet hours away. Ada is blind, has spent more than four months waiting at the Greenville Humane Society, and is often overlooked because of her age and special needs. None of that stops her from enjoying every stop along the way. A car ride, a cool treat, and a quiet nap make for a pretty wonderful day.

Senior blind shelter dog, often overlooked, gets a fun outing

The video begins with Ada peeking out of her kennel before happily heading out for the day. According to the caption, her life in the shelter has been especially difficult. Being blind means the constant barking and unfamiliar surroundings can be overwhelming, so the goal for the day is simply to let her relax.

Since temperatures were close to 100 degrees, the adventures stayed short and comfortable. We see Ada visit a pet store for a cold treat and even get a few cookies saved for the day she’s adopted. Then she trots around in her little boots and later picks out a few new toys. Every stop is planned with her comfort in mind, and she seems to enjoy every minute of it.

One of the sweetest moments happens when Ada curls up for a nap in the car. After months of kennel noise, the quiet ride looks like exactly what she needed. She also enjoys a buggy ride and spends time playing with her human companion.

This video of the senior shelter dog has already collected more than 205k likes. And viewers are filling the comments with hopes that Ada’s forever family will find her soon.

As the page later explained, these outings give a shelter dog a chance to unwind and show their real personality. Looking at Ada peacefully snoozing after her day out, it’s easy to see the sweet dog waiting behind the kennel door, and hopefully, it won’t be long before the right family sees her too.
