Shelter Dog Remembers What It Feels Like To Be Loved, but Still Thinks Its Temporary

At first glance, Snow doesn’t look like a dog carrying a heavy story around with her. She’s wagging, accepting treats, enjoying attention, and happily spending time with the volunteers around her. Then the details start filling in. The video shared by @orangecountyanimalservices explains that Snow was once left behind when her owner moved away. Since then, she’s spent time in foster care and back at the shelter. She clearly enjoys being loved, but she just seems careful about it. Like this shelter dog has learned not to assume that good things, like love and home, automatically last forever.

Shelter dog hasn’t forgotten what love feels like while she looks for a forever home

Landlords originally found this little pup entirely alone inside an empty apartment after her owners packed up and left. The previous tenants ignored every phone call from officials, and that is how she ended up at the rescue center. Snow was completely shut down and terrified during her first few days in the busy building.

This beautiful shelter dog is just looking for a permanent home where she can experience real love again. She eventually got a brief break in a foster program, but accidentally got lost. Thankfully, a neighboring rescue facility located her and brought her safely back to the team.

The new clip shows her sitting sweetly in the play yard on a leash, melting hearts with her gentle eyes. But the energy picks up fast when she gets to hang out with her favorite people and starts bouncing between two volunteers with pure happiness. She walks beautifully on her leash and plays a slow-motion treat-tossing game. She even smiles when she gets some belly rubs because she genuinely remembers what kindness feels like.

Resilient shelter dogs often protect their hearts when their entire world gets turned upside down. The shelter says Snow takes her time getting accustomed to new faces, so she needs an adopter who will not rush her. She gets along perfectly with other pups at the facility and shares her kennel space without any drama. The post pulled in over 603 likes from eager fans in just 10 hours. One viewer commented that she is absolutely beautiful and needs an owner immediately.
