Dog Sits on Baby’s Lap & Makes Him Giggle With Happiness

New puppies often have zero concept of personal space when it comes to their favorite human siblings. Tater is a three-month-old American Bulldog mix who was recently adopted. A recent popular clip from @seeulatertater captures a hilarious living room moment where this growing dog decides to park himself directly on his baby brother’s lap, prompting a sudden giggle. According to his owners, the sweet pup just wanted to snuggle his brother.

Dog makes baby giggle by adorably sitting on his lap

The video opens in the living room, where a little boy is lounging quietly on the sofa. He has a pacifier in his mouth and is watching television. But there’s one other detail: Tater, the family’s rescue dog, sits happily right on top of him, fully convinced that he is a tiny lap pet. Owners of this big breed will tell you that they love to lean on people, completely ignoring personal boundaries, and Tater is doing exactly that.

The two youngsters are coexisting perfectly fine until mom steps in to film the scene. Mom calls out the puppy’s name, but the little boy turns his head around first. The clueless canine keeps his eyes glued directly to the screen.

Mom uses a sing-song voice to ask the toddler if the pet is sitting on him. The infant simply smiles back and then gets back to watching TV. The noise finally gets Tater’s attention, and he shifts his gaze toward the lens.

Mom next asks the pup what he is doing. This question causes the baby to break into a beautiful giggle while his heavy dog friend remains sitting on his lap. The clip quickly gathered over 14.2k likes from delighted viewers. Commenters joke that the animal is literally “babysitting” his sibling. Another viewer mentioned he is positioned so as to keep the baby from falling off the couch.

Growing up with a canine best friend means always having a personal bodyguard on the couch. Tater takes his protective duties very seriously.
