Being a full-time road-dog usually means 24/7 together time, so Brooklyn is not taking her dad’s eight-hour work shift very well. She usually travels the country in her camper van. But right now, she’s just lying on a cushioned seat, looking grumpy.
Additionally, her owner tells us that Brooklyn was rescued from a film set, and maybe that is where she got her “dramatics” from. This Pit Bull really doesn’t understand why her humans need to go anywhere without her. You can follow her life on @brooklyninbk.
Dog doesn’t want to kiss dad because he has to leave for work
In the heartwarming video, the dog dad is leaning through an open window and trying to tell Brooklyn that he’ll only be away for eight hours, which really isn’t a big deal. But Brooklyn isn’t listening and just starts doing some very loud “groombles” to show her frustration. Pit Bulls are famous for their big personalities, and this girl is currently using all of hers to stage a protest.
Dad even leans in and asks for a kiss, making little kissing sounds to win her over. But she is just “too mad for kisses”, and her growls only get louder as he tries to get close. Mom is filming the standoff and tries to help; she even calls her “Bear bear” while explaining that work is a necessity. Daddy eventually gives up on getting any affection from the annoyed dog and looks at the camera with a defeated expression.
He shuts the window and says his goodbyes, and that is the exact moment the regret starts to set in. Brooklyn immediately looks longingly out the glass where he was standing just a second ago. She basically missed her chance to say a proper goodbye, and now she has to deal with the consequences.
One viewer joked that she’ll probably just be asleep for most of the time he’s gone anyway. Another person called it an “avoidant attachment style,” which feels pretty accurate for this level of moodiness. Her dad even commented that she does this every single day before he leaves for work, but gives him the best welcome home later. It turns out she just really hates the actual act of saying goodbye to anyone.
