Winter in the New York and New Jersey area means peak treasure-hunting season for Tyson. As one of the stars of the @halfhuskybros account, Tyson is usually busy reviewing snacks with his half-Husky brother, Champ, and also Teddy. However, a recent video shows him abandoning his culinary critiques for something much colder. With a coat dusted in fresh snow, he was spotted making a literal beeline for the back door. He looked like he had just secured a top-secret delivery. It turns out that Tyson has a very specific obsession with the backyard’s “water cookies,” aka ice.
Dog ignores owner’s requests to keep the ice outside
The action kicks off with Tyson trotting into the house with incredible purpose. His mom, Becky, immediately knows something is up and tries to stage an intervention at the door. “Hey, hey, hey Tyson,” she calls out, forcing him to halt his mission. Interestingly, this Husky mix has that classic northern-breed stubbornness combined with a Retriever‘s need to carry things around. When the dog finally drops his prize, we see in the video that it’s a massive, jagged block of ice that he clearly spent some time excavating.
His tail drops for a split second when he realizes Becky isn’t exactly thrilled with the new decor. But the guilt doesn’t last long. As Becky walks over to inspect the frozen “trophy,” Tyson starts smacking his lips and wagging his tail. He mistakes her silence for an invitation to continue. When she asks him to take it back outside, he does the exact opposite — he scoops it back up and heads straight for the carpeted living room.
One viewer joked in the comments that he was just practicing “dog feng shui” to make the house feel more like his ancestral home. Another fan noted the desperate “please let me keep it” look he gave the camera as he was told “no” for the third time.
Finally, Tyson drops the ice right on the threshold, looking back at his mom with a face full of confusion. In his mind, he’s brought home a valuable gift, while Becky just sees a giant puddle waiting to happen. Tyson didn’t mean to make a mess. He just wanted to share winter’s finest offering.
