In St. Pete, Florida, this “mush king” would much rather be lounging in the AC than hitting the pavement. A hilarious new video from @reefthegolden_ shows exactly what happens every single time his owner, Grace, suggests it’s time to move. Instead of a wagging tail, this Golden Retriever offers a masterclass in avoidance, walking as far away as possible the second he hears the word walk.

The standoff begins near the coffee table, where Reef decides to retreat behind the furniture like a fugitive. Grace follows him to the dining area, jokingly calling the struggle “a short film.” Even after he seemingly accepts defeat, he pulls a fast one and starts running circles around the house. This Golden Retriever is clearly “Team No-Go,” forcing his mom to chase him through their open-plan layout while she laughs at the sheer drama of it all.
He finally lets her put the harness on him, looking away the entire time. Like he is really upset with mom for not getting the hint. Once the harness is finally on, though, Reef tries the “statue” tactic. He sits completely frozen with a look of quiet rebellion, offering a side-eye that could melt ice.
Grace tries to reassure him that he’ll be okay, but Reef’s face says it all: “literally no, I’m not.” It takes her actually walking toward the door and threatening to leave without him before he finally decides to end his protest.
