Video: Boxer’s Thanksgiving Is Mostly To Do With Food

Poppy, the Boxer, seems to know fully well that Thanksgiving is basically a sanctioned day of nonstop eating. The video on @royalprincesspoppy’s page opens with her sitting on the back seat of the car, eyes wide like she’s already drafting her own holiday menu. As the car heads toward the family gathering, her excitement only grows. The rest of the video gives fans a look at her jam-packed schedule: “Poppy’s Thanksgiving Day in videos! Better late than never.” And each clip only goes to show how loved and pampered the Boxer is.

The second Poppy jumps out of the car, her Thanksgiving agenda is officially underway, and she completely takes over. Her first move is always to hit up grandma’s kitchen, where she warms up by giving a potato a seriously intense sniff-down, like it’s a sacred artifact. Next, she just bolts upstairs with something in her mouth. According to the on-screen text, that’s her “helping take out the trash,” but she’s running like she’s trying to destroy classified information.

Back downstairs, she climbs onto a kitchen chair to supervise grandma’s cooking. Her note? “Add more butter.” Honestly iconic. A close-up shows her taste-testing a dish with intense determination. And in the next shot, we see her stretch her neck dramatically to sniff the turkey on the counter, clearly thinking, “Get this on my plate right now.” She graciously accepts a warm-up bite, then moves on to cardboard-box demolition duty on the couch.

Grandma wipes her face (a crime, in Poppy’s opinion), and then it’s back to the kitchen throne for more sampling — a spoonful of sauce disappears so fast it’s practically theoretical. She licks a plate clean, licks the turkey wrap in the garbage for “safety,” and then voices her displeasure about dinner not being ready yet, all while wearing pearls like a loud, glamorous auntie.

Finally, she gets her plate at the table, then sweet-talks grandpa into sharing his. And when it’s time for dishes? She’s thrilled — licking plates in the dishwasher, wondering this: “I don’t know why everyone hates doing dishes. I love it.” And why wouldn’t she, when the holiday is all about eating!
