Life with multiple dogs means managing not just food bowls and toys, but feelings and lots of them. Canines don’t just notice who got the last treat — they pick up on attention, emotion, and, apparently, medical care. That’s the lesson one dog owner learned in a video when their Samoyed, Yuki, watched her sister, Maple, receive post-surgery care and promptly began sulking like she’d been excluded from a very important family meeting. So, naturally, the solution was to give her a bandage of her own.
Dog is ‘happy’ after owners bandage her like her sister so she doesn’t feel left out
Yuki, a fluffy white Samoyed, doesn’t like being left out. In a video from earlier this year, the dog is seen sitting beside her sister, Maple, an Australian Shepherd, who is having her bandage changed after surgery. While the latter patiently gets her wound tended to, the former sits nearby with a noticeably pouty expression, staring off into the distance. It’s as if she had been left out of the attention session.
Rather than letting her sulk, Yuki’s owners decided to include her in the moment. They gently began wrapping a bandage around one of her front paws. As soon as the bandage comes out, the pup’s whole mood shifts. She happily lifts her paw, tail wagging slightly, and watches eagerly as she is “treated” just like her sister. By the time the wrap is on, the Samoyed looks proud, almost as if she knows she’s now officially part of whatever her sister is going through.
The dog video ends with both sisters sitting side-by-side, showing their bandaged paws. Yuki looks content, and possibly even proud, as she poses with Maple like a true teammate. With over 804k views and almost 100k likes, it’s safe to say the internet has fallen in love with the pup’s dramatic flair.
“They love to be part of everything,” one person wrote. Another said, “Yuki simply wanted to support her sisfur,” while someone else added, “She looked so proud of her bandage.” Clearly, the Samoyed wasn’t about to let her sister be the only one getting the VIP treatment.
