A recent video captured Whispy, a frightened pup who stayed curled up in the corner of her kennel when rescuers found her. Determined to rewrite her story, the shelter’s patient volunteers gave her the love and reassurance she needed to slowly become braver.

An emotional video shared on Instagram by @manytearsrescue introduced viewers to Whispy, a frightened shelter dog who has slowly started to find her courage with the help of patient rescue workers.
The caption read, “We have no idea what she’s been through in her life.” It explained that Whispy has “deeply ingrained” fears and continued, “She has no trust in anything or anyone, apart from a select few dogs at the rescue that she has dropped her guard with.”
It further revealed, “She has absolutely no idea about human kindness, nor what our intentions are. She grumbles and barks when we enter her kennel in pure panic, as she’s so scared of what we’re going to do to her.”
The caption also explained, “Even though she may sound a little scary, she lets us stroke her and pick her up absolutely fine… kind of like she’s just given up. It’s quite sad actually.”
The video begins with Whispy curled up in the corner of her kennel on her first day at the shelter. As it continues, viewers learn that her difficult past has left her deeply afraid of people. She has only begun lowering her guard around two other dogs at the rescue, but with patience, love, and gentle care from the volunteers, Whispy is slowly becoming braver each day.
