Video of Dog Making Rare ‘Noises’ While Getting Down the Stairs Goes Viral

Canines have various ways to communicate, from barking and whining to howling and making unexpected, quirky sounds. Some breeds are naturally more vocal than others, while some dogs develop unique ways of “talking” to their owners. One viral video shows a dog with a particularly amusing habit — letting out a distinct noise every time she walks down the stairs.

Viral Instagram video captures Golden Retriever’s adorable awoos

A video posted by Instagram user Cara Ovens (@caraovens) has left viewers both amused and fascinated by her Golden Retriever, Lucie, and her unexpected vocal talents. The clip starts with an onscreen caption that reads, “Please take a moment to listen to Lucie running down the stairs.” It then cuts to Lucie standing at the top of the staircase while Cara, positioned at the bottom, encourages her to come down with a simple “Come on.”

As soon as Lucie starts making her way down, she lets out a series of amusing, deep-throated “woo woo woo woo” sounds, almost like a mix between a howl and a groan. Once she reaches the bottom, she finishes with an excited little hop, as if celebrating her successful descent.

According to Cara, Lucie has been making these funny noises since she was three months old and has always been a “very chatty gal.” Whether it is a greeting, a request for attention, or simply excitement, Lucie is not shy about expressing herself.

The video quickly went viral, amassing over 282K likes and 638 comments from people who couldn’t get enough of the dog’s signature noise. One person wrote, “Alright. It’s 7 am and that is officially the cutest thing I’ll see today!” Another imagined how eerie it would be to hear Lucie’s sounds out of context: “That’s adorable when you see what’s making the noise but imagine hearing that in the middle of the night.” Someone else added, “Nice recording of your pets but I think there is an owl loose in your home.”
