DogTime Media Expands 2011 Petties Awards Program

As the DogTime Media Blog Network Grows to 565 Pet Bloggers, Awards Program Announces Change in Venue to Accommodate Larger Audience

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – (July 14, 2011) – DogTime Media, the largest vertical media community focused exclusively on pet owners, today announced that it’s blog network, the largest pet blog network in the industry, has grown to 565 bloggers.

DogTime Media has launched a variety of unique programs that have engaged leading pet bloggers and attracted a host of new bloggers to the community.

The DogTime Pet Blogger Awards, aka “The Petties”, know as “the Oscars of the pet blogging world” is expanding this year to accommodate more bloggers and more of their followers. The number of awards categories has grown from four to eight, the donations that winners will make to their favorite animal shelters has doubled form $500 to $1,000, and the awards ceremony will be broadcast via YouTube®, Facebook and Twitter to allow more participation from the local and International pet community.

“The Petties have become a rallying point for the pet blog community and their followers,” said DogTime Media CEO, Trevor Wright. “We are increasing our commitment and our investment in the awards ceremony this year – essentially throwing open the ballroom doors and inviting the entire pet blogging community to join the fun.”

DogTime provides opportunities for bloggers to reach new audiences by presenting their blog posts on DogTime.com, a leading pet-focused site that attracts a powerful audience of pet owners. By using canonical URLs DogTime is able to direct all SEO value to the bloggers original post, thereby increasing the exposure for a blogger and improving their ranking with search engines, without compromising any of their traffic.

“Our mission is to provide the tools and services that bloggers need to grow their audiences and increase the influence of their voices,” said Wright. “Whether they want to increase traffic, maximize revenue, review premium products, or join together in supporting animal welfare causes that are close to their hearts, DogTime can get them there.”
