Having two dogs at home means twice the love — and sometimes, twice the attachment. While some pups enjoy their own space, others cannot stand to be apart from their sibling for even a second. That is exactly what happened in a now-viral video, where a rescue dog named CiCi refuses to sleep anywhere but right next to her senior brother, Cooch, no matter how small the space is.
Video shows rescue dog refusing to leave senior dog’s side
The clip begins with Chooch peacefully resting under a blanket, only for CiCi to climb right on top of him. Their owner, Eddie, notices the moment and gently tells CiCi, “You can’t just sit on your brother,” before pointing out her bed nearby. However, CiCi does not seem to care — she just wants to be as close to Chooch as possible.
Eddie continues, “He’s tired. Leave him alone,” as the camera captures the senior dog snoozing undisturbed. However, instead of retreating to her own space, CiCi insists on snuggling up next to her big brother. “Our rescue pup will only sleep next to our senior dog. It doesn’t matter how small the space is…” an on-screen text from Eddie reads. “I think being next to him makes her feel extra safe.” Eventually, Eddie gives in, allowing CiCi to stay and even covering both dogs with the blanket to keep them cozy.
CiCi’s attachment to Chooch is hardly surprising, given how she first found her way into Eddie’s life. While vacationing in Puerto Rico last May, Eddie and his girlfriend, Krystal, encountered the stray pup on the beach. From the moment they met, CiCi was playful and affectionate — splashing in the waves, trailing them along the shore, and refusing to leave their side.
Though they initially left without her, Eddie could not shake the thought of the dog. Determined to give her a home, he enlisted the help of a local rescue group and returned to find her. Soon after, he brought CiCi back to Philadelphia, where she immediately bonded with Chooch and has been by his side ever since.
