Videos of rescue dogs finding their forever homes never fail to tug at the heartstrings, and CiCi’s story is no exception. TikTok creator and dog lover Eddie — @eddienchooch215 — recently shared a touching video of how he rescued CiCi, a stray dog he found while on vacation in Puerto Rico, and how she has since settled into his Philadelphia home with his senior pup, Chooch.

The video begins with a clip of Eddie discovering CiCi on a beach in Puerto Rico, offering her fresh water and care. It then transitions to heartwarming moments between CiCi and Chooch, his 8-year-old American Bully, as they bond and adjust to their new life together. The two dogs quickly grow close, even curling up to sleep in the same bed. Overlayed text in the video reads, “They say you don’t always get the dog you want, but you get the dog you need… Chooch, my senior dog, needed her the most.” It continues, “There was a reason she followed us on that beach in Puerto Rico that day.”
Last May, while vacationing in Puerto Rico, Eddie and his girlfriend, Krystal, crossed paths with a black-and-white stray dog. As they hiked to a beach, the pup appeared out of nowhere and eagerly led them straight to the shore. Eddie recorded their first encounter, showing CiCi joyfully playing in the water and following them all the way back to their car. Though they initially parted ways, Eddie couldn’t stop thinking about her. His TikTok followers felt the same, urging him to adopt the pup — and ultimately, he knew he had to bring CiCi home.
With the help of Souls of Satos, a local dog rescue organization, Eddie returned to the area where he had first met CiCi. After searching for hours, he finally found her in a nearby neighborhood. From there, the adoption process began, and Eddie documented every step for his TikTok followers.
When CiCi arrived in Philadelphia, Eddie introduced her to her new family, including his senior dog. According to Eddie, CiCi quickly bonded with Chooch and now follows him everywhere. “She’s playful and full of love,” he says, according to TODAY. “She’s definitely a shadow.”
