Hilary Duff’s Dog Jak: Breed, Age, and More

Hillary Duff was shattered by the demise of her beloved pet pooch, Jak, a few years back. The actress posted a lengthy tribute on her Instagram handle, informing her fans about Jak’s passing. Here is everything we know about Hilary Duff’s dog Jak’s age and breed.

How old is Hilary Duff’s dog Jak?

The age of Hilary Duff’s dog Jak is not known. But reportedly the pet was gifted by her then-boyfriend, Joel Madden, in 2003.

Although the couple later separated, Jak stayed with the actress for almost 20 years before passing away. Hilary Duff informed about the loss with a tribute on March 29, 2022.

Jak has been with the actress for the longest period. Even Hilary Duff mentioned in the post that she has spent “almost two decades” with Jak. And in this period, the pup has seen the star bring all her babies home.

She goes on to say that Jak, and her other dogs, Lola, and Dubie, taught her “so much responsibility” before she had human babies. Jak’s death left a void in Hilary Duff’s life as her pet pooch would give her “a lot of comfort and love” during her low time.

What breed is Hilary Duff’s dog Jak?

The breed of Hilary Duff’s beloved dog Jak was Yorkshire Terrier. The dogs of this breed are compact, toy-size pups who weigh no more than 7 pounds. They are feisty, brave little pups who can sometimes be bossy as well. The life expectancy of Yorkshire Terrier is 11-15 years.

This was not the first time when Hilary Duff lost her four-legged companion. She lost her chihuahua Lola in 2013 due to health issues. Her Bernese Mountain dog Dubois died at the age of 10 in 2018. She’s also had a French bulldog, Beau, who died in 2016.
