According to trainer Patricia McConnell, one of the biggest training mistakes you can make is to repeat commands, as in, “Sit. Sit! SIT!” rather than simply “Sit.” Cue him once, and if he fails to respond, there goes his opportunity for a treat. (The exception is when you ask him to turn down the stereo.)
