A little love and care can truly go a long way when it comes to fur babies. This video showcased a shelter dog named Callie, who has been suffering from starvation. The dog’s ribs were showing as she was extremely thin.
However, since coming to the shelter, her health has slowly improved. On August 23, @the.invisible.8 posted the video on Instagram. Since then, the video has gained significant attention worldwide, garnering more than 1K likes on Instagram.
Shelter dog was once ‘painfully thin’ but has now gained health back and looks to get adopted
This Instagram video featured an American Pit Bull Terrier shelter dog named Callie. Her ribs were showing as she was “painfully thin” due to starvation. However, with love and care from the shelter’s workers, the dog regained her health.
The Instagram video caption reads that she is “a 4.5-year-old Terrier mix who thinks personal space is just a suggestion! This sweet, silly girl lives for her people and is happiest when she’s soaking up pets, giving gentle kisses, or leaning her whole head into you for love.”
Further adding, “She walks beautifully on leash, knows sit, and while she may get a little bouncy when she’s excited, she responds well to gentle guidance.”
The caption of the video post read, “254 days ago, Callie arrived at the shelter after being found outside, essentially being starved. (emoji) Her ribs were showing, and she was painfully thin.”
The caption further read, “The video and picture in this post were taken when she had only been at the shelter for a couple of weeks. Since then, Callie has gained a healthy weight and filled out beautifully.” It continued, “She is absolutely gorgeous and ready for a home. Callie needs a solo-pet home and is good with teens. You have to come meet this girl!”
Now, she just needs someone to see her and give her a loving home. She truly deserves a comfortable and happy life with her forever family. The video will melt anyone’s heart.
