Tommy has a very simple standard for fun: put wheels underneath anything and let him have a go. And his dedicated dad gladly turns a trolley into a personal outdoor ride just for him. Popular Instagram account @tommybluestaff recently showed how this thrill-seeking dog rides a modified trolley around his lawn.
According to his humans, Tommy loves anything on wheels, whether it is a stroller or a hand truck. So, when the Staffy’s dad placed a soft mat right across the metal handles, it was just the cherry on top.
Dog gets comfortably seated on a trolley as Dad indulges his unusual fascination by taking him for a little ride
The video opens in the garage with Tommy following the trolley as dad pulls it backward. His front paws stay on the base while his back legs do the walking, making it look like he has already found his own way to enjoy the thing.
Then we see the trolley parked outside, and Tommy is still watching it closely. The text on the video says, “When we say our dog loves anything with wheels…” and then proceeds to make the point. That’s when dad gets creative. He places a mat across the trolley handles to make a little platform for Tommy and helps him climb aboard. Once the trolley is lowered, the ride begins.
Tommy looks thrilled as dad pushes him around the yard, first moving forward and then turning him around. He seems completely settled on his makeshift platform and even looks up at dad with a happy expression.
And you can see the trust between them. Tommy is perfectly comfortable letting dad guide the trolley, and dad seems just as entertained by his dog’s very specific hobby. The sweet dog rides the trolley for a while before dad eventually lowers the bars all the way down. Tommy stands on the mat, but getting off does not seem to be part of his immediate plans.
With more than 20,000 likes, viewers clearly enjoyed the ride too. One joked that Tommy “didn’t want to get off at the end,” while another said his final look seemed to say, “this ride is not over man.”
