Toddler Copies Golden Retriever’s Every Command & Has the Time of His Life

Training sessions are usually designed for dogs, but one little boy seemed convinced he had been invited too. Standing beside a Golden Retriever named Ranger, the toddler carefully copied every command his mom gave the pup. The wholesome Instagram video has since captured the attention of viewers who couldn’t get enough of the duo.

The video includes the on-screen caption, “In case you were wondering, this is what a 2.5 year age gap looks like.” The pair’s resemblance is hard to miss, with the toddler’s blonde hair matching Ranger’s golden coat. Leaning into the comparison, the family captioned the post, “Blonde brothers.”

As the training begins, Ranger listens attentively while his owner calls out a series of commands. She asks him to “sit,” then “down,” followed by “sit” once more before finishing with “spin.” What makes the clip especially entertaining is the toddler’s determination to join in.

Rather than standing by and watching, he carefully copies every move Ranger makes. He sits when the dog sits, drops down when Ranger lies on the ground, gets back up alongside him, and even attempts to spin, appearing just as excited as his furry companion to complete each task.
