Shelter Dog Turns His Back Away From People Failing To Notice Him

A long-waiting shelter pup named Saint is still hoping someone will finally choose him after nearly 300 days. The video, shared by @helpingforgottenpaws, shows him behind kennel glass at Leavenworth Animal Control in Kansas. Saint was found running at large, but no one came looking for him. The post says he once lived with children and other dogs.

The video first shows Saint inside his kennel, looking through the window while people pass outside. On-screen text says, “Meet a dog no one has ever asked to meet. For 300 days, he’s waited. Now, he’s running out of time.”

Another caption describes him as a dog still looking out the window, “waiting for a turn that may never come.”

The post says nearly a year in the shelter has taken a toll on Saint. He now takes longer to trust new people. However, once he does, the account describes him as a gentle dog who simply wants love. The caption adds that Saint needs more work with leash manners, but he is treat-motivated and eager to learn.

In another clip, Saint turns his back away from the window and lies on the kennel floor. The on-screen text says the hardest part is knowing he never got the chance to belong to someone. Another moment says confinement has changed his body, too.

The post says he gained weight because he has not had the freedom to run, play, and simply be a dog.

Saint is listed as a Lab mix and is around 2 to 3 years old. The account said he lives for every moment outside his kennel, even when it is cold or raining. The video asks for one person to show him that he still matters.
