A scraggy pup struggling to climb a muddy stone wall along an Indonesian trail, thankfully, caught the attention of local hikers. The helpless animal was left to fend for herself in a parking lot before wandering into the forest. This Instagram post by @sagaslegacy shows a vulnerable rescue puppy dumped by her owners before a kind human stepped in. Local vendors had shooed the sick animal away into traffic earlier that morning. Instead of running away, the desperate pup followed the hikers all through Bali’s rice terraces. Now named Nasi, she just refused to give up on finding help.

The video shows the tiny furball scrambling up the trail, matching the humans’ pace as they film her. The hikers quickly realized they could not leave the hungry, sick animal behind. When a hand is stretched out, the pup gets into a massive full-body stretch and wags her tail happily. She eagerly accepts head scratches before being scooped up into warm arms.
We learn from the caption that the rescuer carried her for hours along scenic trails and by rushing streams. Nasi eventually curled up on a bench for a long, exhausted nap. Getting the pup to safety required a serious logistical effort across the island. Nasi rode peacefully in a helper’s lap in a car, then balanced on a motorbike.
The crew traveled for two full hours to reach a proper veterinary clinic for treatment. The poor animal had multiple severe skin and eye infections. Following two intensive months of medical rehabilitation and foster care, her physical transformation is absolutely incredible.
Now, the healthy puppy is officially living her absolute best life with a permanent family. Her new household recently survived a major personal loss, making her arrival the perfect source of mutual comfort. A closing photo montage shows little girls in Nasi’s new family, absolutely doting on their new furry sister.
