One dusty road changed absolutely everything for a forgotten street dog, and it all happened because the right human happened to look his way. A beautiful video shared by @expedition.ola shows us Six’s story, a pup who had been hanging on day by day in Baja until one chance encounter completely changed his future. The poor pup was barely surviving, covered in severe skin issues and matted fur. The rescuers, however, wanted to help him, but they couldn’t rush it. They showed up every single day and earned his trust one visit at a time till he was ready.
Human’s chance meeting with struggling street dog leads to an incredible story
The video begins with Six lying beside a dusty roadside, his coat badly matted and his skin showing the effects of a difficult life outdoors. The rescuers slowly approach, but he isn’t ready to trust anyone yet and quickly backs away. Rather than forcing the moment, they keep returning with food, fresh water, medication, and plenty of patience until he is healthy enough to safely join their other rescue dogs.
Day by day, Six starts waiting for them. His tail begins wagging as soon as their camper appears, and it’s easy to see that he recognizes the familiar faces. On the sixth day, they finally welcome him into their pack, and his whole world changes. Before long, he’s racing across the beach, chasing his new friends through the sand, and learning how to properly be a carefree dog.
A visit to the veterinarian confirms that Six has plenty of medical issues to overcome, but with proper treatment, rest, and lots of love, he slowly becomes a completely different dog. One of the sweetest moments comes when he receives his very first collar, as if he finally understands he belongs somewhere.
The viral video has already collected hundreds of thousands of likes. Viewers could hardly believe the cheerful dog splashing through the waves was the same street dog from the opening moments.
Today, Six is living with his forever family in Florida, and it’s hard not to smile knowing his best days are finally the ones that feel normal.
