Shelter Dog Has Already Given Up on Finding a Home & Lives in Fear

A dog’s life is not easy, especially for those that are put in a shelter. These fur babies face numerous hardships, but at times they end up giving hope. A recent post on social media captured the tragic journey of a pup. The video showcases the life of a shelter dog named Burke, who gave up on finding a home. A page named @voicesforcarolina_animals has shared this emotional post on their Instagram to appeal for the adoption of the canine.

Shelter dog terrified of kennel walls longs to feel safe

In the video mentioned above, the shelter dog is seen living in a kennel with no hope of finding a home. The caption explains that the pup is terrified of shelter life. Moreover, every unfamiliar sound and every unfamiliar face in the kennel leave him overwhelmed as he trembles in fear.

Burke came to the shelter as a stray with his body covered in countless ticks. Despite being scared, the canine let the staff sit with him and remove the ticks one by one. The gentle giant never fought back but placed his faith in the people to help him. “It’s impossible not to see what a kind soul he is beneath all that fear,” the caption continued.

The post continued, “Burke doesn’t need perfection—he just needs someone willing to show him that the world can be safe again.” The uploader added, “With a little patience, love, and a soft place to land, we know this sweet boy will finally be able to relax and let his true personality shine.”

Burke needs someone who unconditionally loves and understands him. The pup will hopefully find a home that gives him the warmth and comfort he deserves. Netizens shared their reactions in the comment section, with one saying, “Sweet Burke I pray someone sees you and falls in love and never turns back.” Another one wrote, “Tell Burke we are rooting for him. Please share and get the word out for Burke. Sending love and prayers.” A third user commented, “So cute. I hope this puppy gets rescued soon.”
