Video: Dog Wants a Seat on the Couch, Doesn’t Matter If She Fits In

If you have a dog who insists on fitting into a tiny space on the sofa with you, Gemma Lou’s adorable Instagram video will make you feel seen. Instagram user @miss.gemmalou shared a video showing an American Bully named Gemma Lou approach the sofa, set her sights on a little space between her owner and the armrest, and hover like she wants a seat.

Dog tries to squeeze into a tiny space on the sofa in cute video

The dog’s owner in the video greets her from the sofa. She narrates the moment, saying, “Gemma, hi. Hi, puppy. Are you trying to fit into this tiny little crack? Do you think you can do it?” But after hovering for a while, Gemma Lou turns away like she is reconsidering the decision. And that’s when her owner offers a solution; she slides to the side, making room for the dog, and says, “Lemme scoot over. Here you go.”

Clearly, that’s all the invitation Gemma needs as she hops up on the couch, slides into the small opening, and settles in comfortably.

The video’s caption reads, “small crack in the couch? I’m there✨,” which pretty much covers the dog’s “occupy the sofa” mission. It also proves beneficial for the owner, as she later jokes about the breed’s dedication to personal space, or lack of it. She says, “If you feel lonely, just get yourself an American Bully. They will literally never leave your side. Never.”

The final moment shows just how committed Gemma is, with her owner pointing her out and declaring, “Tucked. Do you see it? Absolutely tucked and going nowhere.”

Closeness is comforting for dogs. Besides, many dogs are drawn to body heat, familiar scents, and the security of being close to their human, especially in snug spots that make them feel safe. This explains Gemma’s desire to fit into the crack on the sofa in this video.
