It is actually wild how fast dogs grow up, and George from Brisbane is out here proving it by hitting major milestones already. You can follow his life over at @george_thatgoldenboy, where he usually spends his time exploring the world.
However, a new video shows this Golden Retriever puppy dealing with his first tooth, finally deciding to make an exit. It starts with his dad holding him while his mom tries to get a look at his mouth. One of those tiny front baby teeth is literally hanging on by a thread. She can’t even believe it. She actually is so excited because it looks like it’s about to drop at any second.
Owner documents Golden Retriever puppy losing first tooth
The parents are basically on high alert for the rest of the day. They keep checking his mouth for updates while he’s just trying to lie on the floor and relax. At one point in the video, the dad is telling the mom to just take the tooth because it’s so loose. She’s a little nervous, though. She asks if it’s really going to come out yet. And then George just wriggles his mouth shut because he’s probably over the whole inspection.
This breed is usually pretty chill and goofy, so he just takes the prodding in stride. But then they check again while he has a toy in his mouth. Mom lifts his lip flaps, and the tiny tooth just falls right onto her finger. She starts screaming with excitement. Dad is right there, too. He tells George that the tooth fairies are definitely coming to bring him some treats.
It is a big moment. “Not me getting emotional over a tooth,” his mom wrote. She is just so happy they actually managed to save it. Usually, they just swallow them or lose them in the grass. The post has exploded with over 68k likes.
People in the comments are calling them “shark teefs” and “baby teefies.” One person even admitted they didn’t know dogs lost baby teeth and almost rushed their own pup to the vet before realizing it was natural. Another owner mentioned they saved all of their goldie’s teeth, too, because they’re just so precious.
