Small dogs have a reputation for moving faster than their little legs should logically allow. Blink once, and they have already zoomed from the couch to the kitchen. A Dachshund puppy put this stereotype on full display in a TikTok video, leaving her owner chasing after her while she carried off a slipper nearly her own size.
Dachshund puppy runs as fast as she can with a slipper in her mouth in adorable video
Lola, a Longhaired Mini Dachshund from Los Angeles, has captured the internet’s attention with her playful mischief. In a TikTok clip that quickly went viral, the tiny pup can be seen racing across the living room with a large blue slipper clenched tightly between her teeth. Her owner trails behind her with their phone in hand as they try to keep up. For a few seconds, Lola looks unstoppable. She darts across the floor with impressive speed before her owner finally catches up and reclaims the slipper.
The video quickly gained traction on TikTok, racking up more than 627K likes and thousands of comments. Lola’s owner added a playful caption written from the pup’s perspective: “I’m fast as fluff with my little legs.” Many viewers couldn’t help but notice the size difference between Lola and the slipper. One remarked that the shoe looked “as big as she is.” Another pleaded with the owner to let Lola keep her prize, writing, “Let that baby keep it!”
Several users also commented on her lightning speed, joking that they could barely see her zoom past. Others were fixated on her short little legs, which seemed to be moving a mile a minute as she sprinted across the room.
Lola’s video is one of many examples of why Dachshunds, affectionately called “wiener dogs,” are such a beloved breed. Originally bred in Germany to hunt badgers, these small dogs are known for their long bodies, short legs, and surprisingly bold personalities. Despite their size, they are energetic, playful, and often stubborn, which makes them both entertaining and challenging companions.
