Neighbors dogs are constantly getting loose.
Our neighbors have 2 moderately good sized dogs, who constantly climb over, or dig under their fence and get out. This happens a minimum of once a day. The fence that they keep escaping from is a mere 4 foot tall chain link fence; perfect for a small dog, but not for a big one. Our neighbors know their dogs can escape, and they are always running around the neighborhood in the attempt to round them up and bring th... (continued)

Dear Labby, petiquette expert
I have an older, 13 year old lab/hound mix. He has always been eating twice a day, the problem he is having is that often in the middle of the night he poops in his bed and eats it. He is suffering from degenerative mylopothy, so I think part of the issue is his loss of feeling in the back end. I have been trying to tinker with his food schedule so as to help him get through the night without having to move his bo... (continued)

Tension between roommates due to dogs
My roommates and I have recently moved into our apartment. I have a dog that is 55 pounds, 6 months old while my roommate has a 6 month old dog that is 3 pounds and the size of my dogs head. My puppy is playful yet gentle with her puppy and never shows agression towards it. However, she thinks their "nippiness" is too violent and is always worried her dog is going to get hurt. A few times her puppy yelped but that... (continued)

Dear Labby: Big dog/small dog etiquette
My neighbour never walked her little yapper, which then kept getting out of her yard and causing trouble and other neighbours threatened to have Leah taken to the pound. Because I'm an avid hiker I have since then been taking Leah for weekly day-long walks on the mountain.
Incredible, but after an entire day of hard uphill rock scrambling, she still rushes backwards and forwards and jumps up and down and chases ... (continued)

Is owner responsible when his dog barks?
It is crazy how some people act. If its their dog then they should take the time to responsibly train the dog. They should not expect the world to revolve around them. It is owners like this that make certain breeds look bad. Crazy how some people act.

Is owner responsible when his dog barks?
I would just make sure my dogs don't linger. I would also drop one of Patricia mcconnell's training pamphlets in his mailbox, for the sake of the German shepherd. It'll just be about $5. Personally I would also let other people in the neighborhood know about the incident, especially if you fear this guy might become more aggressive, and fund out if anyone considers the shepherd a nuisance barker so that THAT can... Is owner responsible when his dog barks?
I believe the man is such a jerk. Everyone has the right to walk there dogs. He should just keep his dog inside or if it really bothers him when his dog barks, then teach him not to bark. But its obvious the guy thinks the whole world should revolve around him! So ignore the prick and be well on your way. You have very well behaved dogs and kudos to you. If I were his neighbors, i'd call the police and complain about his dog's barking!

Is owner responsible when his dog barks?
You are clearly a nice person and your neighbor is stepping on you. Of course you should walk your dog when and where you feel like it.
Frankly, men like that should not be spoken to, you should have given him the finger and kept right on going. I highly doubt that he would push the matter to the point of being physical and should he be such a fool.
What is he going to do? Call the cops? Just think about how... (continued)

Is owner responsible when his dog barks?
My neighbor gets angry when kids ride bicycles, scooters orskateboards by her house. She tells everyone within earshot they are trying to get her in trouble because her dog barks and lunges. My dogs while family are still my responsibility and legal property, therefor, their misbehavior is my problem. And everyone pays taxes for public streets, so if my being in public, in a quiet responsible nature sets people ... (continued)

Is owner responsible when his dog barks?
I will definitely agree the author did nothing wrong, and this guy has a serious attitude problem and is likely very miserable in general. However, as an owner of two dogs that are very protective of their turf, I have to say it's not as easy as just training your dogs to not bark when someone walks by- especially if they are walking dogs themselves. I live in a busy neighborhood with lots of foot traffic, right on... (continued)
