The footage opens with Petite Daisy sitting listlessly inside her drab kennel. She moves her head to look directly at the camera with the absolute saddest eyes before quickly turning away, and it is clear that she feels abandoned. But things get a whole lot brighter once she gets outside on a leash.
This friendly mixed breed instantly shows off her sweet, cooperative nature in the shelter play yard. She pulls her ears back happily and trots right over to the filming volunteer. She takes a quick water break from a large, bone-shaped tub to cool down. Then she happily accepts some much-needed under-chin and neck scritches.
She stands there politely, waiting expectantly for a reward, and she gently nibbles multiple treats straight from the volunteer’s palm. Daisy actually arrived at the facility alongside her 9-year-old Chihuahua best friend named Nugget. Her original owner left fantastic notes explaining that she is potty trained and already knows basic commands. She spent years living peacefully with three other dogs and a young child.
